High Key setup for products

I had a couple of inquiries after posting the wine glass images yesterday.  So let me first off say that rather than sending me an e-mail, post your thoughts and questions in the comments area of the blog so everyone can share them.  Trust me, if you are wondering about something chances are there are… Continue Reading

One light and varying the Aperture

This was a very simple setup.  A roll of white seamless paper, a Q Flash at 1/64th power being triggered by a Pocket Wizard (any flash and any triggering system would work fine), a wine glass camera and tripod.  I used ISO 200 for optimal image quality and shot from f2.8 in the upper left… Continue Reading

An evening at Mary Duprie’s Studio

It isn’t always about art

Today we celebrated a birthday and I thought it would be a good time to mention and show that sometimes photography is about documenting a moment.  I didn’t want to micro manage the scene, but rather I was trying to capture a slice of life.  We were in the middle of breakfast when my son… Continue Reading

“For A Price I’ll Shoot Your Relatives”

I have to say that one of the best ideas I have ever had was my website name GetShotByBob.com and the accompanying slogan “For A Price I’ll Shoot Your Relatives!” The website and the slogan resonate with people, and it serves to let people know what kind of experience they can expect when they choose… Continue Reading
