Downtown Rochester prior to 2012 renovation
Soon downtown Rochester will begin a tremendously disruptive construction project to update the sewers under main street. The street will be torn out, the original sewers dug out and replaced with significantly larger pipe to handle the modern day requirements, and then the street and sidewalks will be rebuilt. I was walking downtown today enjoying the unseasonably warm weather and decided to take a quick camera phone shot of what it all looks like prior to the project kicking off. I plan to visit periodically throughout the project to document the progress. The picture above may seem mundane today, but by the end of the project and certainly 5 or 10 years from now it will become one of those images that we look at and say, oh I remember…
